Thee Rock & Roll Residency with Ryan Cook, Jeremy Asbrock & Phillip Shouse

Bart Allmand September 30, 2019

Ryan Cooke, Jeremy Asbrock & Phillip Shouse join Bart on Thinkin’ & Drinkin’ this week to talk about how they met, got their start as a cover band playing KISS songs, and became real-life rockstars hosting a weekly Tuesday night show. They share great stories playing for Gene Simmons and Ace Frehley. This episode is full of stories and lots of laughs.

Meet Thee Rock & Roll Residency

Started in April of ’14 by guitarists Jeremy Asbrock and Phil Shouse, Thee Rock N’ Roll Residency has become the longest-running, star-studdedest, Rock N’ Roll extravaganza in Nashville, TN.  TRnRR’s weekly Tuesday night shows at Mercy Lounge have become the stuff of legend, with guests such as Gene Simmons, Alice Cooper & band, Roger Glover & Don Airey (Deep Purple), Robin Zander (Cheap Trick), Sylvain Sylvain (New York Dolls), Derek St. Holmes (Ted Nugent, Whitford/St. Holmes), Peter Baltes (Accept), Marco Mendoza, Doug Aldrich, Brian Tichy (damn near everybody), John Corabi (Mötley Crüe, Dead Daisies), and Kip Winger, among many others (see below for complete list.)

The 5-headed monster of a band was formed when Jeremy (Gene Simmons Band, The Shazam, John Corabi, Big Rock Show) & Phil (Gene Simmons Band, Rodney Atkins, Chris Cagle, John Corabi) reached out to good friends Chuck Garric (Beastö Blancö, Alice Cooper) and David Parks (LoCash Cowboys, Southern Rock Revival) to fill the bass and drum positions, respectively.  Soon after, when the road called to Chuck and David, they had to answer, so Jeremy & Phil called on Judd Fuller (Entrain, Rodney Atkins, The Tummies), Eric Brittingham (Cinderella, Bret Michaels, Naked Beggars) and Jarred Pope (Tom Keifer, Whiskey Falls, Damon Johnson Trio, Thompson Square) to take over. And with the addition of Ryan Cook (Gene Simmons Band, Hair of the Dog, Big Rock Show) on vox/guitar, TRnRR is the perfect combo to keep the true Rock N' Roll spirit alive.

Fronted by the blazing-blond guitar duo of Asbrock & Shouse, TRnRR rips through hard rock anthems with razor-sharp precision, without sacrificing one molecule of feel or fire.  Ted Nugent, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, BÖC, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Montrose, James Gang, T Rex. TRnRR doesn’t leave a Stone (even Rolling ones) unturned. Playing the classics with the passion as though they had written the songs themselves, TRnRR revs like a Trans Am chasing a streaker through an episode of "ABC's Wild World of Sports".  Accept no imitations, Thee Rock N' Roll Residency is THEE premiere Rock N' Roll band in the land. And they’re good-looking, too.

What Bart has to say: These guys have been friends of mine for a long time and have played with the biggest rock stars in the world, so I knew they’d be perfect guests!
